CAL Bank in commemoration of its Customer Service Month and as part of it’s commitment to society has made cheque donations to a number of institutions. Most organisations focus this month will be on its customers only; CAL Bank on the other hand has seized the opportunity to extend a hand to institutions in Ghana and support these institutions in carrying out initiatives that save lives and enrich living standards of the needy in our society.
Ms. Adwoa Asare-Asamoah, Head of Clients Service said the bank was very proud to be able to support such worthwhile initiatives. She said it was another way for the Bank to contribute to the development of society as a whole. Celebrating twenty (20) years of excellent service CAL Bank wishes to thank all stakeholders for bringing the bank this far.
The Ghana Heart Foundation received a donation of GHC 20,000.00. Each year the Foundation assists needy patients to be able to afford high cost of surgeries. The Foundation has the added responsibility of training doctors, nurses and technicians to specialize in key areas in cardiovascular medicine. CAL Bank agreed to financially support the Foundation to help save the lives of heart patients.
CAL Bank in the quest to helping build a better Ghana for all, gave the Accra Metropolitan Assembly GHC 10,000.00 towards the Education Endowment Fund set up to identify and renovate existing structures and also to build sheds to use as classrooms to accommodate 71,000 pupils involved in the shift system of education.
The other institutions wereCollege of Health Sciences, with an amount of GHC 5,000.00 as sponsorship in aid of postgraduate training at the College of Health Sciences, towards the postgraduate Endowment Fund which was established in 2000.
Other institutions that benefited from the donations also included theJudith Ellen Awuah-Darko Foundation with GHC 5,000.00, Osu Stool GHC 2,000.00, The Pentecost University College GHC 1,000.00, The Ghana Association for the Blind GHC 1,000.00, University of Ghana Medical School USD $1,000.00 andSOS Hermann Gmeiner International College GHC 2,000.00.CAL Bank hopes that the gesture would go a long way to help the beneficiaries and encourage other organizations to follow in their footsteps.
Earlier on in the year CAL Bank made similar donations to five orphanages in different parts of Ghana and in July made a cheque donation of GHC 31,517.63 to the Princess Maire- Loiuse Children’s Hospital in Accra. This was in response to a call by the Hospital to help in the completion of a two storey theater and emergency ward project.
During the donation Prof. Andrew Adjei of the University of Ghana Medical School extended his appreciation and gratitude to CAL Bank on behalf of all the beneficiaries for the kind gesture. He also assured the members of the Bank present that the donations would be used for the intended purpose and asked for God’s Blessing’s for CAL Bank.
